【ChinaByte 综合消息】Royal Caribbean International公司近日宣布其所属游轮船队每周能为23，000名游客提供互联网访问，这个数目相当于其它所有船队所能提供互联网访问人数的总和，从而使其成为世界上最大的数字化船队。今年10月份该公司“探索海洋”的活动开始后，这个数目还将增加到26，000人以上。Royal Caribbean公司去年8月份首先在“Sovereign of the Seas”号船上安装了Internet中心，使成千上万的游客在旅行途中使用这套系统享受网上冲浪。另外一艘安装同样系统的名叫“Legend of the Seas”的游船本周已到达其亚洲之行的新加坡。

　　Royal Caribbean公司目前已经在下列船只上安装了Internet中心：“Sovereign of the Seas”,“Grandeur of the Seas”,“ Enchantment of the Seas”, “Voyager of the Seas”, “Legendof the Seas”, “Majesty of the Seas”, “Splendour of the Seas”, “Vision of the Seas”, “Monarch of the Seas”及“Rhapsody of the Seas”。“ Nordic Empress”号船上的系统目前正在安装之中。今年10月份, Royal Caribbean公司将可以使用上述资源全面开展“探索海洋”的活动。

　　Royal Caribbean Internet 中心能为游客提供24小时不间断Internet访问及电子邮件服务，且可与著名的股票站点、体育和娱乐站点进行链接，向世界任何地方发送虚拟明信片。Royal Caribbean Internet中心建立在具有业界领先技术的IBM平台上，包括IBM PC 300PL商业台式计算机、IBM T55A平面显示器、IBM Preferred 键盘以及IBM Sleek鼠标。Internet中心每分钟收费50美分，每个电子明信片的收费是4.95美元。
